Affligem DELFT BLUES FESTIVAL 2018

 

This year the festival will took place at 36 locations with a record number of 80 live-shows on 16th, 17th and 18th February. Entrance to the live-shows is free. The best bands of the Dutch and Belgian blues-scene performed in Delft.

Ed & the Gators – recently voted best Belgian blues band will perform on both Friday at Bebop Jazzcafe and Saturday at Het Koningshuys. The line up for the festival consists of  – The Juke Joints, AJ Plug Trio, Doghouse Sam & his Magnatones, Little Boogie Boy, Hoodoo Monks, Doghouse Sam & his Magnatones, Rootbag, Sugar Queen & the Straight Bluesband, The Bluesbones, Lightnin Guy Verlinde & the Mighty Gators, Ralph de Jongh, Livin’Blues Xperience, Wouter Kiers Band, Fat Harry & the Fuzzy Licks, Dirty Five, Shakedown Tim & the Rhythm Revue and many other bands.

The audience can listen to a wide variety of styles, like Chicago blues, Delta blues, Rock & Roll, Blues rock, Jump & Jive, Jazzy blues as well as (semi) acoustic bands. Blues lovers can also enjoy 6 Specials, with a film titled The Gospel According To Al Green on Thursday February 15th. This film is shown at Filmhuis Lumen from 19.30 hrs. Entrance: € 9

A Gospel Concert is planned on Saturday afternoon at the Maria van Jesse Church at the Burgwal 20, Delft. Showtime is 14.30 hrs. Entrance is free. Other Specials are two shows about the history of blues and a workshop harmonica where you can learn how to play bluesharp.
