QE2’s TALKING HEADS to finally go ahead

Amsterdam based English language theatre company QE2 – an offshoot of the Queen’s English Theatre Company – will finally present their production of Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads. After numerous postponements and difficulties caused by you-know-what, six performances of the show will be presented at the CC Amstel Theatre in Amsterdam on 26th – 29th August.

Although this is a reprise of their successful 2018 tour, this is a completely new production demonstrating that necessity is the mother of invention. Due to the social distancing restrictions the play will take place in the round with the action taking place on a series of rostrums.

The two short single-hander plays from Talking Heads are A Bed Among the Lentils and A Chip in the Sugar. Loveday Smith portrays vicar’s wife Susan in the former and Mark Winstanley plays Graham in the latter. They direct each other’s performances.
