Founded in 1990 by Thea van Loon it has been a favourite stage for greats like Rita Reys, Rachel Gould, Ronald Douglas, Rob van Kreeveld, Ack van Rooyen, Ferdinand Povel, Michael Varekamp and many others.  The Regentenkamer is always innovative and a great ‘home’ for young and established artists.

No wonder that the Regentenkamer is also called the ‘ Haagsche School ‘ for the Dutch Jazz world and acts as a catalyst for the stage careers of young musicians. Once started in the Hofje van Nieuwkoop in the Hague, with a weekly jam session hosted by Frans Elsen. The Regentenkamer acted as a free jazz stage in Netherlands and has many young jazz musicians the opportunity to develop themselves. It is a meeting place for young and old, musicians, artists and the public.

The Regentenkamer’s openness and hospitality is widely known in the Hague. It is small-scale, open-minded, but most of all, inspiring. It has a practice room for upcoming talent, a great location for famous artists and a warm place to meet each other.
