De Meervaart wants to make all residents of Nieuw-West shareholder in its activities. Performing arts shows us as an important value in personal life and social movement. Theater offers a multitude of perspectives and shows the various ways in which one can relate to the world around. It enriches the sensory and intellectual experience because, besides focusing on reality, space is also given to dreams, fears, desires and imagination. By encouraging cultural participation, cultural education and presentation of the performing arts, we facilitate cultural introduction, discussion and reflection. De Meervaart wants to be the house of New West, where mutual respect, curiosity and the eradication of cultural thresholds are central. As a cultural institution, we actively contribute to the development of the cultural ambition of residents, citizenship and a rich living environment.
