DELFT FRINGE FESTIVAL 2025 throughout the city

27^th May – 8^th June.

During the Delft Fringe Festival, visitors will be introduced to new up-and-coming talent. From musician to dancer and from theater maker to comedian and cabaret artist. The performances take place at special locations in Delft. Discover the gems of the city through the festival; from courtyard garden to living room and from monument to garage.

Welcome to ArtsTalk Magazine Holland

Launched in June 2017, we provide previews, reviews and information, in English, for theatres, art exhibitions, concerts, opera etc, concentrating on cities in south west Netherlands. We cover Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and everything in between and nearby – an area known as Randstad. Each venue, museum or gallery has its own page with information and a link to its website. The site is updated on a daily basis.

There is so much going on in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and nearby there are hardly enough days in the week to see or do everything. Luckily a lot of the exhibitions, events and tours run for quite a long time so if you have missed anything, don’t worry, it may still be running.

EXTRACURRICULAR

MARIANNE VON WEREFKIN Pioneer of Expressionism at De Fundatie in Zwolle

The exhibition of Marianne von Werefkin at De Fundatie in Zwolle starts with an intimate painting of Vera Repin knitting a child’s sock. It confirms that Ilja Repin was right in comparing her treatment of chiaroscuro to that of Rembrandt! However, the self-portrait she makes a decade later shows that she is moving away from this academic style of painting more towards impressionism.

THOUGHT TRAILS by Jackie Mulder now available as an artist book

Jackie Mulder’s work always begins with a self-made photograph or a complex stratification of photos. She then transfers the images onto various surfaces, applying labour-intensive manual techniques. These images are deconstructed and reconstructed through the use of beeswax, embroidery and drawing.
