KLEZMAGIC AND LUNA MAKI’s free dance party at Circusstad Rotterdam

2nd & 3rd May.

KLEZMAGIC AND LUNA MAKI bring free dance party to Schouwburgplein Rotterdam.

On the freely accessible music stage of Circusstad Festival on Schouwburgplein, two freely accessible, very danceable bands are programmed on Friday 2nd May and Saturday 3rd May at 8:30 PM: Klezmagic and Luna Maki.

Klezmagic on Friday is an eight-piece Balkan band and wants to make every audience dance with rousing brass sections and lyrical violins. Klezmagic is not just a band, but above all a close-knit group of friends, which creates an irresistible chemistry between the musicians on stage. The band was founded in 2009 by the Turkish-Dutch clarinetist Emirhan Tuğa. Their mission is to bring traditional Balkan music to a new generation. They combine Balkan, klezmer, ska and world music.

Luna Maki on Saturday is an enchanting psychedelic afro band with an irresistible mix of groove and flow. This exciting band, led by the mysterious frontman The Maki, takes you on a journey through your mind, via the perspectives of the world and the music of life. Prepare to be carried away to a world of rhythms and melodies that you have never danced to before.

Circusstad Festival takes place from Wednesday 30th April to Sunday 4th May on and around the Schouwburgplein in Rotterdam, including in Theater Rotterdam, the old Luxor Theater and at the Maritime Museum. Several hundred circus artists are ready again on the fence-less festival site. You can walk straight onto the Schouwburgplein for a terrace, free performances and workshops. You can buy tickets for performances in the tents on the square, in the theaters nearby and elsewhere in the city.
