New Acting General Director for Nederlandse Reisopera From 1st August 2021 Nina Hiddema will take over from Bart van Meijl as acting general director of the Nederlandse Reisopera.
Since October 2020, Bart van Meijl has led the Reisopera as interim director to ensure a good transition towards the new general director for the 2021/2022 season. Since the search for a new general manager has not yet yielded a suitable candidate, and Van Meijl’s assignment will end on 31 July, the Supervisory Board has looked for a suitable interpretation to guarantee the administrative continuity for the coming months.Hiddema has been a member of the Supervisory Board of the Nederlandse Reisopera since December 2017. She has extensive experience as a director in the world of the performing arts and media sector. Bart van Meijl and Nina Hiddema will transfer work in July, after which Nina Hiddema will take over the position of director for a period to be determined on 1st August. Nina Hiddema will also retire from the Supervisory Board for that reason. Under her leadership, the Supervisory Board and the organization will jointly consider the future interpretation of the position of general manager.Bart van Meijl led the Reisopera in a turbulent time. He made an important contribution to the supplementary application for the BIS function 2021-2024 of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
