STET presents SHAOKE – Open-Air Shakespeare Karaoke in Wassenaar

Everyone knows Shakespeare, you may have read some of his plays or watched a couple here and there but when have you ever had the chance to perform it? That is exactly what we offer you in the beautiful woods of Raadhuis de Paauw in Wassenaar: we are going to have a SHAOKE! * on 4th & 5th September.

The performance….
During a SHAOKE, Shakespeare’s characters and their stories are being introduced by Shakespearean actor and scholar William Sutton. The actors bring these characters to life. In a SHAOKE, the audience is invited to join as actors in the performance. The text is projected on a screen, for everybody to see. And YES for once YOU can be the actor and speak the lines and experience Shakespeare from the inside!

The show directly engages you with the words of Shakespeare. Audiences become actors, imagination ignites, brains spark, you speak, and you are … Hamlet, Puck, Cleopatra, Bottom or Miranda to name but a few… William guides you through the stories and the words, no special training needed (nor a posh English accent).

It is fun, fast and hilarious and will make for a great Shakespeare experience! A dream may come true for some of you to finally stage a Shakespeare character, but please be aware that every show also needs an audience … so if you prefer to take that part we are very happy too! The audience is of vital importance to make the show truly come to life!

*SHAOKE = SHA (kespeare Kara) OKE :))
