STET’s Structural Subsidy ensured for four more years

Following months of anxiety, not least by having to cancel shows because of you-know-what, STET’s main cause for concern has now been resolved.

After the threat, in March, of not having its structural subsidy from The Hague renewed, the powers that be have relented and the funds are now  guaranteed for 2021-2024 to ensure that The English Theatre can continue presenting shows in English the heart of the Dutch capital.

No doubt the petition of nearly 3000 signatures and the overwhelming show of support for the company influenced the decision.

STET gets back into full swing in September when it presents its annual Shakespeare at Wassenaar. This year A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be performed at Raadhuis De Pauw by The Handlebards on 4th and 5th.
