Winner of the Oskar Back Prize at the Dutch Violin Competition announced

Isobel Warmelink (25) was the winner of the Oskar Back Prize (18 to 26 years old) on 29th January during the Dutch Violin Competition 2022 in Utrecht. The jury praised, among other things, her passionate playing and her “fantastic interplay with the orchestra”.

The Oskar Back Prizes were presented by HRH Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands, patron of the Dutch Violin Competition.

The finalists were accompanied by the Residentie Orkest conducted by Bas Wiegers.The final of the Oskar Back Prize was broadcast live on Radio 4. Earlier that day, Joshua Tavenier (16) won the Davina van Wely Prize (14-17 years). The finalists of this prize were accompanied by the Netherlands Youth String Orchestra conducted by Carel den Hertog. Valentine Blangé and her guitarist Cem Karayalçin were the winner of the new Young Makers Prize.    29th January 2022
