In an alley to the West End of the Hague one can find a small and cozy theater, which seats about 80, with a foyer where a relaxed atmosphere prevails.
Theater in de Steeg is an intimate and atmospheric theatre located in the heart of the Hague a few minutes’ walk from the city centre. Several public transport stops are close by. There is also parking within walking distance of the theatre.
The theatre has an auditorium where the audience close to the stage. Theater in de Steeg is ideal for groups that attracts an audiences of around sixty to. The theatre offers space for theatrical performances, cabaret, musical performances, try-outs, practice in performing arts, but also for social and cultural gatherings, lectures and meetings. The theatre has good sound equipment and lighting and meets all safety requirements.
Acoustic Alley is a fortnightly live music event at Theater in de Steeg featuring the best artists in, but not strictly confined to, the genres of folk and Americana.
Our big night is Friday night when you can expect to hear fantastic acts, from solo artists through to full electric bands.
Our stripped-back nights (‘Strictly Acoustic’) are on Wednesdays and are an even more intimate affair, mainly featuring acoustic singer-songwriters and duos.
Acoustic Alley started in 2003 and has hosted numerous national and international artists including Hans Theessink, John Watts, Greg Trooper, Martyn Joseph and many many more.
