The new service means you can travel directly between the two cities in just four hours was launched this week.
The inauguration didn’t go off with a very big bang though as travel restrictions and quarantine regulations meant the first trains were almost empty. Eurostar has limited the number of services available with only one train running in either direction per day, and no services available over weekends.
Anita Middelkoop, spokesperson for the Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS), said that the rail company acknowledges the strict travel advice currently in place, and only expects travellers for whom the journey is absolutely necessary. However, both NS and Eurostar are looking ahead to the future, preparing for the time when international travel is possible again. 29th October 2020
