Dutch Violin Competition Finals in Utrecht

Finals of the Oskar Back Prize & Davina van Wely Prize.

On Saturday evening, 29th January His Royal Highness Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands will present the prizes to the three finalists of the Oskar Back Prize (18-26 years), the most important prize of the Dutch Violin Competition.

Prince Constantijn is patron of the Dutch Violin Competitions Foundation. The final will take place in the Great Hall of TivoliVredenburg – depending on the corona measures that will be announced on January 25th – with or without the public. The performances of the finalists can be followed, like all previous rounds, via a live stream, which can be found on the website of the Dutch Violin Competition.

The program includes works by Mozart, Korngold and Berg. The finalists will be accompanied by the Residentie Orkest conducted by Bas Wiegers. Earlier that day, at 2pm, the final of the Davina van Wely Prize (14-17 years) will also take place in TivoliVredenburg (Hertz). The three finalists are accompanied by the Netherlands Youth String Orchestra conducted by Carel den Hertog.
