With museums all over the country, and in fact the world, closed indefinitely one could assume perhaps that Museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam has got off lightly. It was closed anyway, and has been for many months, for its major renovation and refurbishment so one could imagine the current crisis would have less impact than on other similar establishments.
Maybe so, but the Boijmans was not idly sitting on its hands and had a full programme of events, not least taking pictures to schools, clubs and other institutions in Rotterdam and further afield. These activities and other activities the museum had underway have had to stop, but don’t forget the museum’s collections can be seen online often being described by one of the curators.
