The festival featured seven stages, four of which were the main ones. Each offered a unique interpretation of classical music, showcasing a diverse range of styles and performers. Every stage delivered a distinct experience, allowing audiences to enjoy classical music in varied forms and sounds.
The sorrow conveyed by the Cello Octet Amsterdam on Saturday evening was deeply moving, captivating those gathered at the Nieuwe Kerk with Sensing Earth, a landmark concert that resonates not only through the strings of the eight solo instruments but also deeply touches the individual’s sensitivity in the face of our planet’s pressing challenges.
In this exhibition almost all works seemed to have a social or political message. It seems that the message justifies the means of expression, the message often dominating the actual piece, pushing the artistic work into the background. The messages of course are very heart-felt and worthy, but for me, in most cases, the use of ‘textiles’ was merely incidental.

Redesign Rietveld is about the world-famous furniture designs of Gerrit Rietveld (1888-1964) and his influence. The exhibition consists of 60 fantastic models of designs by artists from all over the world who were inspired by Rietveld’s work and then came up with their own variation. These designs have all been recreated on a scale of 1:3 by exhibition maker Harry Hoek of MH Expo.
