Touring is often stereotyped as a glamorous vacation filled with extravagant parties, picturesque cities, and artists thirsting for life. The reality is slightly different. Scapino Ballet Rotterdam dancer ASHTON BENN describes a day in her life on tour with Scapino’s current show, Cathedral.

NDT 1’s Architecture of the Invisible in The Hague and on tour

The dystopian world which Morau has created is strangely at odds with the often sublime and always meditative music of Estonian composer Arvo Pärt exquisitely played, live in the pit, by Sinfonia Rotterdam. In fact Mr Pärt gets more than the usual credit with the full name of the piece being Cathedral, An Evening with Arvo Pärt.

The story follows the chaos that ensues when Jean-Michel, son of George and drag queen Zaza, announces his marriage to the daughter of the right-wing politician Edouard Dindon. On top of the glamorous drag, witty dialogue, and camp personalities, the audience interaction segment in the form of a scored drag competition seals the deal for a fun, engaging show.

THE LOST MUSEUM at Mauritshuis in The Hague

Mauritshuis has brought together more than one hundred pieces once forming part of the Cabinet of Rarities. When the Cabinet was dismantled in 1875, they were divided among other museums like the Rijksmuseum. Apart from showing beautiful objects from all over the world, the exhibition primarily wants to address the way the 19th century visitor was manipulated.
