Starting at 12:00 am on 14th May OperaDagen presents Threnos (for the Throat) by Carmina Slovenica via ODR TV. Director Karmina Šilec wowed audiences with the impressive choral work Toxic Psalms a few years ago. As fan of the festival she offered Operadagen Rotterdam the chance to host the online world premiere of her new work.
Artistic director Guy Coolen: “It makes us proud that we are given the opportunity to unpack such a magnificent new work at a time of corona. Threnos (for the Throat) is a masterly example of exciting music theatre, brimming with surreal moments, deeply emotive and gripping.”

Home Sweet Home breathes life into the stories, arising from a city in quarantine, spanning the many cultures and art forms that have found a home in Rotterdam.
Singers, musicians, dancers, beat boxers, poets and visual artists from Rotterdam are creating an online opera about homesickness and longing, distance and feeling-at-home.
