
The winners of the 2025 sand sculpture competition in Scheveningen were announced by the jury at the official opening on Wednesday, 9th April.
Helena Bangert’s Buitengewone Beestenboel of an African landscape was awarded third prize and Rhythm of the City by Tautvilas Povilionis and Jamie Louks depicting Mick Jagger and celebrating musical events that have taken place in The Hague and Scheveningen, came in second place.
The first prize, chosen by a unanimous vote, was awarded for Marjon Katerberg’s Veilig op Zee (Safe at Sea), a tribute to the KNRM and The Hague Rescue Brigade.
The jury consisted of Heino Walbroek, Ben Vermijs and David Schoch.
The public can also vote for their favourite sculpture.
All the sculptures can be seen along the Strandweg, and nearby, in Scheveningen until 1st June
