A disturbing peep show which examines whether women are victims or the emancipated winners.
Bimbo is a video installation about women’s objectification in the media. In a special audience, the visitor witnesses a worrying peepshow full of quotes from a world in which our identity is more than ever determined by image. Because what used to be an image used to illustrate reality, today’s same awkwardness is dictated by the image. The creators were inspired by R & B video clips and the frequent use of pornographic imagery in contemporary advertising. Bimbo was the first performance of the successful and boundary series of Visual Statements. A series of visual representations about the Spectacular Society and the far-reaching influence of image culture in our society.
