TOP DANCERS POWER UP ONLINE FUNDRAISER FOR CHILDREN

On 10th December ten international ballet stars will make the world their stage and join forces to launch a first-of-its kind virtual production in support of a common cause: raising awareness for children in crisis.

Raise the curtain for InterMission – a unique online dance production created to raise funds that will help provide disadvantaged children with a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn, and protection from harm in the world’s hardest-to-reach places.

DIRECT EUROSTAR SERVICE BETWEEN AMSTERDAM AND LONDON STARTS

The inauguration didn’t go off with a very big bang though as travel restrictions and quarantine regulations meant the first trains were almost empty. Eurostar has limited the number of services available with only one train running in either direction per day, and no services available over weekends. 

J PAUL GETTY MUSEUM ACQUIRES 39 DUTCH DRAWINGS

LOS ANGELES 13th October 2020 – The J. Paul Getty Museum announced today a landmark acquisition of 39 Dutch drawings, providing a stunning survey of the outstanding artists, styles, genres, and subjects in seventeenth-century art from the Netherlands. The group includes drawings by Rembrandt van Rijn, Jacob Ruisdael, Gerrit van Honthorst, and many other artists of the “Golden Age” of Dutch art. In addition, the acquisition includes a monumental early watercolor by Piet Mondrian, a panoramic landscape view made in 1901.

Germany is Boosting its Culture Budget by $140m for 2021

Bringing the Ministry’s total spend to $2.2 billion. The additional funding increases culture spending by 6.6 percent. At Last – Eurostar Launches Direct Amsterdam-London Service

Five months later than planned and ten months after the original planned start date Eurostar will finally launch its direct service from Amsterdam to London on 26th October.

Ticket for the service will go on sale from 1st September, with two services a day starting on 26th October. Ticket prices start at €46 one way.
Direct trains have been running from London to Amsterdam since 2018, but passengers heading for the UK still had to change trains and go through security checks in Brussels south.
