THE ROYAL DELFT FACTORY

In the museum section, we admired beautiful earthenware from all periods of the factory’s history – huge jars, bulbous vases, tulip towers, plates, bowls and dishes and huge copies of famous 17th century paintings reproduced in blue on white tiles. There was a recreation of what Vermeer’s Delft dining room may have looked like and a collection of china from the Dutch Royal palaces.

VOORLINDEN MUSEUM & GARDENS Wassenaar

Voorlinden is an art museum in Wassenaar. It was founded and is privately owned by Joop van Caldenborgh. It was opened on 10th September 2016 by King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands.

SIEBOLDHUIS JAPANESE MUSEUM Leiden

The Sieboldhuis is a center for Japanese art located in a beautiful house in Rapenburg. The collection of Japanese objects was gathered by Philipp Von Siebold between 1823 and 1840.

NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM Leiden

The Naturalis Museum in Leiden is the National Natural History Museum. If you have not been to Naturalis before, you will undoubtedly wonder if such a museum with all kinds of fossils is not a bit dusty.

BOERHAAVE MUSEUM Leiden

The Museum Boerhaave, also known as the Rijksmuseum voor Natuurwetenschappen en Geneeskunde, is located in the center of Leiden. The Boerhaave is then considered a national treasury of 400 years of scientific development.
