Netherlands Violin Competition finalists named

Last weekend the semi-finals of the Netherlands Violin Competition 2018 in the categories Oskar Back and Davina van Wely took place, as did the preliminaries of the categories Iordens A & B.

The three finalists of all categories are now known. The final takes place on Saturday, 20th January at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. Patron HRH Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands will award the prizes the following evening. Media partner NTR will broadcast the final live on Radio 4 which can can also be followed via a live stream.

The three finalists in the final category Oskar Back are: Tim Brackman (The Hague), Hawijch Elders (Amsterdam) and Niek Baar (Rotterdam). During this final Tim Brackman and Niek Baar will play Schumann’s Violin Concerto and Hawijch Elders will play the Dvořák Violin Concerto.

It is also known who will go to the finals of the category Davina van Wely: Salomé Bonnema (Alphen aan den Rijn), Enzo Kok (Kerkrade) and Luna De Mol (Ghent, Belgium). They play at 16.00 in TivoliVredenburg in the Hertz.

The three finalists in the Iordens A category are: Alix Rodenburg (Breda), Zohra Jongerius (Zoetermeer) and Kira van der Woerd (Voorburg).

The finalists in the Iordens B category are: Alice van Binsbergen (Amsterdam), Olga Göschel (Amsterdam) and Anna Schultsz (Basel, Switzerland). Their finals start at 13.00 at TivoliVredenburg, Hertz.
