Lobke Nabuurs, business manager of RIDCC, is leaving the post after five years to take up the position of director at Nederlandse Dansdagen festival, an opportunity she felt she needed to take at this stage of her career. Lobke has been vital in growing RIDCC into what it is today and beyond.
Ms Nabuurs said, “With gratitude, I reflect on the growth that RIDCC has experienced. We have established a robust organization, creating a valuable platform for new choreographic talent in collaboration with numerous national and international partners. RIDCC has succeeded in creating opportunities for creators in a respectful and safe manner, securing structural financial support and project funding from new partners, as well as strengthening existing relationships.
“My role in this process has been immensely fulfilling, and I have had the privilege of being part of an ambitious and dedicated team with support by the board. I leave with the utmost confidence that my successor will be able to build on this solid foundation and, together with this fantastic team, shape the future of RIDCC.”

As a result, there is a vacancy open for a new business manager at RIDCC on a freelance basis for an average of twelve hours per week, starting on 1st October with the prospect of being engaged as an employee.
They are looking for strong leadership and a dedicated, empathetic and strategic colleague who is fluent in both Dutch and English. If you have the skills to further develop the organization, manage and build relationships, both locally, nationally and internationally and you are known in the performing arts sector, preferably the dance sector then contact RIDCC.
In further news, Gemeente Rotterdam has given a positive positive recommendation for support for RIDCC so that over the next four years (2025-2028), the company will have the opportunity to develop further.
And in even more news, on 17th July it was announced that Maya Roest, Artistic Director of RIDCC had become a Fellow of the International Society for Performing Arts and will attend the conference in New York in 2025.
The ISPA Fund is one of the six national culture funds and supports professional artists and performers in their work. We stimulate artistic development, invest in deepening and broadening and finance the creation of new work. We also make it possible for work to be seen by as many people as possible. The Fund is there for the performing arts across the board, from pop music to all forms of theatre. They also encourage exploring the boundaries of disciplines and recognize the importance of different perspectives on the assessment of grant applications. To ensure this a wide diversity in expertise, gender, age, place of residence and cultural background is gathered in the advisor pool a policy which is also employed when composing committees. 20th July 2024
