Pianists Derek Wang (United States, 1998), Yukine Kuroki (Japan, 1998), and Yeon-Min Park (South-Korea, 1990) performed last night with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra led by Christian Reif in the finals of piano competition Liszt Utrecht 2022. All three finalists performed Franz Schubert’s Wanderer Fantasy, transcribed by Franz Liszt for piano and orchestra, in front of a live audience and an international jury.
The international jury consisting of Suzana Bartal, Frederic Chiu, Janina Fialkowska, Nino Gvetadze, Michael Lewin, Mūza Rubackytė, Wibi Soerjadi en Mariangela Vacatello just announced the winner.
The first prize of €25,000 was awarded to Yukine Kuroki. The runner-up was Derek Wang who won €10,000. Joint second prize and Audience Award of € 2,500 went to Yeon-Min Park.
