From 29th March, visitors to Mauritshuis Museum in The Hague will be able to follow the examination and restoration of Paulus Potter’s The Bull live. This huge painting (the largest in the Mauritshuis collection!) was last restored fifty years ago. Since then, there have been significant advances in conservation, restoration and research techniques. Over the course of eighteen months, this project aims to learn more about Potter’s painting techniques and working methods.

Talking Trees expresses two contemporary artists’ worries about the heedless exploitation of Dutch forests, while paying homage to trees and woods as inspiration. A new sort of circus was emerging, smaller, more intimate affairs. Street performers became ubiquitous wherever tourist gathered and circus schools were established everywhere. One of the best and most significant in this part of the world being Codarts in Rotterdam and it was thirteen of their second year students who presented tonight’s show.
Desiree Burch closed the night with a bang. Her larger-than-life personality and fearless comedy had the audience in fits of giggles.
