In the centre of Delft on the Koornmarkt (Corn Market) the private house of Paul Tetar van Elven is located. He was an artist, a copyist, a teacher at the Polytechnical School in Delft – the predecessor of the present Technical University – and a keen collector of porcelain and earthenware. Until 1892 he lived in the originally 16th century canal house. He left the house and its contents to the town of Delft, to turn it in a museum. In 1927 this was achieved: this gem on the canal became a museum.

Visit this jewel near the canal and absorb the authentic atmosphere of the living quarters of an artist.
