During her farewell party as director of STET, The English Theater Foundation, Elske van Holk-van Eysinga received a royal award at the Theater aan het Spui in The Hague on Wednesday, 23rd June when Mayor Leendert de Lange inducted her as Knight in the Order of Orange Nassau.
Elske created STET in 2006 after returning from London where she had worked at the Southwark Playhouse. STET normally mounts about ten productions a year including the annual festive show A Christmas Carol which has become something of an institution. She has been one of the organisers of The Hague Shakespeare Festival where another high spot of the STET year has been the annual visit of the British Illyria Company to perform at Wassenaar. Most of STET’s shows take place in The Hague at the Koninklijke Schouwburg, Theater aan het Spui or Zaal 3.
Elske recently retired as director of STET.
