DE BALIE in Amsterdam reschedules the Forum on European Culture

17th – 20th September.

Given the current circumstances due to coronavirus, De Balie and DutchCulture have decided to postpone the Forum on European Culture 2020 festival until after the summer. The festival will now take place from 17th to 20th September. Our guests – the artists, thinkers, scholars, activists and all other contributors to this four-day event on European culture – look forward to making it an unforgettable end-of-the-summer event. Now, more than ever, we need the power of artists and thinkers to conceive a better future for Europe.

We are very pleased that the majority of (international) guests are able and willing to participate on the new dates. The first part of the programme will be announced in the course of May. Many of the programmes that were already prepared can be transferred to September. The rapidly changing world order and associated challenges facing Europe will remain the overall theme of the festival programme. The full programme will be announced in July. We will post regular updates about the guest line-up and which programmes will take place where and when on the website www.cultureforum.eu and on our social media channels.

Confirmed participants include: Johny Pitts, Robert Putnam, Alberto Alemanno, Karolina Wigura, Kalypso Nicolaïdis, Géraldine Schwarz, David Goldblatt, Simon Kuper, Dessy Gavrilova, Jonas Staal, Réka Kinga Papp, Flavia Kleiner, Clare Farell, Benjamin Roll, Company New Heroes and Daniele Obono, Priscillia Ludosky (Gilet Jaunes), Arnon Grunberg, Kim Longinotto, Claudia Roden and Yik Mo Wong.
